Description
Deliciously fluffy and slightly sweet buns, perfect for breakfast or dinner, and versatile for sandwiches.
Ingredients
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (450g)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50g)
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (7g)
- 1 teaspoon salt (5g)
- 1 cup warm milk (250ml), around 110°F/43°C
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (55g), softened
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons milk, for brushing
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- Heat the milk until warm (about 110°F/43°C), then add it to the dry ingredients along with the softened butter and beaten egg.
- Mix until the dough forms, then knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm environment for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough, divide it into equal portions, and shape into buns.
- Place the buns on a baking sheet, cover with a cloth, and let them rise for another 30-40 minutes.
- Preheat your air fryer or oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brush the tops of the buns with the additional milk.
- Bake in the air fryer or oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for a few days. For longer storage, freeze after cooling.
