Description

Deliciously fluffy and slightly sweet buns, perfect for breakfast or dinner, and versatile for sandwiches.

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (450g)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50g)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (7g)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (5g)
  • 1 cup warm milk (250ml), around 110°F/43°C
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (55g), softened
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons milk, for brushing

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. Heat the milk until warm (about 110°F/43°C), then add it to the dry ingredients along with the softened butter and beaten egg.
  3. Mix until the dough forms, then knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm environment for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough, divide it into equal portions, and shape into buns.
  6. Place the buns on a baking sheet, cover with a cloth, and let them rise for another 30-40 minutes.
  7. Preheat your air fryer or oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Brush the tops of the buns with the additional milk.
  9. Bake in the air fryer or oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.
