A delightfully creamy and cheesy dish that elevates classic mac and cheese with a rich blend of five different cheeses, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 4 cups elbow macaroni
- 3/8 cup butter
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup crumbled blue cheese
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in milk and cook until thickened, about 3-5 minutes.
- Stir in all the cheeses (cheddar, mozzarella, Parmesan, blue cheese) until melted and smooth. Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni and mix well.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with olive oil. Sprinkle over the macaroni and cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Experiment with your favorite cheeses or add cooked bacon or vegetables for extra flavor.
