Description
A delicious twist on traditional meatloaf with Swiss cheese, bacon, and mushrooms, packed with protein and flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup mushrooms, finely chopped (button or cremini)
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried parsley (or 1 tbsp fresh)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, black pepper, and parsley.
- Mix everything together until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture into a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For added flavor, use fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary and consider adding shredded Swiss cheese to the mixture.
