Description

A delicious twist on traditional meatloaf with Swiss cheese, bacon, and mushrooms, packed with protein and flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, finely chopped (button or cremini)
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried parsley (or 1 tbsp fresh)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, black pepper, and parsley.
  3. Mix everything together until well combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
  6. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For added flavor, use fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary and consider adding shredded Swiss cheese to the mixture.
