A quick and easy one-pan meal featuring sweet and savory flavors, perfect for busy weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 lb smoked sausage (sliced)
- 8 oz pasta (spaghetti, rigatoni, or penne)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- Chopped parsley or basil for garnish
- Extra red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced smoked sausage and cook until browned.
- Add pasta and chicken broth to the skillet. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until pasta is cooked.
- In a separate bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes.
- Stir the honey garlic mixture into the skillet.
- Combine cornstarch and water in a small bowl, then add to the skillet to thicken the sauce.
- Stir in heavy cream and let everything simmer for a few minutes.
- Serve hot, garnished with Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley or basil, and extra red pepper flakes if desired.
Notes
Feel free to use any pasta shape and adjust the spices to your preference. For a vegetarian option, consider using plant-based sausage.
