Description

A delicious and hearty casserole combining creamy sour cream, tender chicken, and gooey cheese, wrapped in warm tortillas.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1 can (4 oz) green chiles
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup cream of chicken soup (optional)
  • Shredded chicken (rotisserie or cooked)
  • Flour or corn tortillas
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Monterey Jack cheese
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Spices (cumin, chili powder)
  • Salsa verde (optional)
  • Jalapeños (optional)
  • Vanilla extract (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, mix the sour cream, green chiles, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and optional cream of chicken soup until smooth.
  4. Spread a small amount of the sour cream mixture at the bottom of the greased baking dish.
  5. Layer tortillas, shredded chicken, more sauce, and a combination of cheeses over the sauce.
  6. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with the remaining sauce and cheese on top.
  7. Bake for 30-40 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use rotisserie chicken for a quick option. Feel free to add your favorite veggies like bell peppers or corn. For a spicier option, add jalapeños or use spicy salsa.
