A delicious and hearty casserole combining creamy sour cream, tender chicken, and gooey cheese, wrapped in warm tortillas.
Ingredients
- 2 cups sour cream
- 1 can (4 oz) green chiles
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 cup cream of chicken soup (optional)
- Shredded chicken (rotisserie or cooked)
- Flour or corn tortillas
- Cheddar cheese
- Monterey Jack cheese
- Mozzarella cheese
- Spices (cumin, chili powder)
- Salsa verde (optional)
- Jalapeños (optional)
- Vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix the sour cream, green chiles, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and optional cream of chicken soup until smooth.
- Spread a small amount of the sour cream mixture at the bottom of the greased baking dish.
- Layer tortillas, shredded chicken, more sauce, and a combination of cheeses over the sauce.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with the remaining sauce and cheese on top.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
- Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use rotisserie chicken for a quick option. Feel free to add your favorite veggies like bell peppers or corn. For a spicier option, add jalapeños or use spicy salsa.
