A fun twist on a classic meal, combining juicy Sloppy Joe filling with gooey grilled cheese. Perfect for a quick dinner or comforting lunch.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup diced yellow onion
- 1 cup Sloppy Joe sauce
- 4 slices Texas toast
- 4 slices cheese
- Butter, for grilling
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the Sloppy Joe sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Heat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat. Butter one side of each slice of Texas toast.
- Place one slice of toast on the griddle, buttered side down, and layer with cheese, Sloppy Joe mixture, and another slice of cheese. Top with another slice of toast, buttered side up.
- Cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes, then flip and cook until the other side is golden and cheese is melted.
- Slice and serve warm.
Notes
For extra flavor, add spices like garlic powder or paprika to the beef mixture. Try different cheeses for a unique taste.
