Description

A delicious one-pan meal featuring smoked turkey sausage, fresh bell peppers, and rice, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked turkey sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups instant rice
  • 2 bell peppers, sliced
  • 1/2 yellow onion, sliced
  • 24 oz pasta sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 10 oz can diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and bell peppers and cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Add the sliced smoked sausage to the skillet and brown until heated through.
  3. Stir in the pasta sauce, diced tomatoes, instant rice, and beef broth.
  4. Sprinkle in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Bring to a boil, then cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer until rice is cooked and sauce is thickened.
  6. Serve warm.

Notes

Best served hot, garnished with fresh herbs. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
