A delicious one-pan meal featuring smoked turkey sausage, fresh bell peppers, and rice, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1 lb smoked turkey sausage, sliced
- 2 cups instant rice
- 2 bell peppers, sliced
- 1/2 yellow onion, sliced
- 24 oz pasta sauce
- 2 cups beef broth
- 10 oz can diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and bell peppers and cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the sliced smoked sausage to the skillet and brown until heated through.
- Stir in the pasta sauce, diced tomatoes, instant rice, and beef broth.
- Sprinkle in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Bring to a boil, then cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer until rice is cooked and sauce is thickened.
- Serve warm.
Notes
Best served hot, garnished with fresh herbs. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
