Description

A comforting dish combining savory sausage gravy and flaky puff pastry, perfect for breakfast or as a hearty snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb sausage
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned.
  3. Sprinkle the flour over the sausage and stir to combine; cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gradually add the milk, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into squares.
  6. Add a spoonful of the sausage gravy mixture to the center of each pastry square.
  7. Fold the pastry over and seal the edges with a fork.
  8. Place on a baking sheet and brush with egg wash.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Serve warm.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through.
