Russian Buttercream

Description

A creamy, rich frosting that adds delightful flavor to cakes and desserts, perfect for layer cakes and cupcakes.


Ingredients

  • 2 sticks unsalted butter (227g)
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (395g)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp salt


Instructions

  1. Ensure the butter is completely at room temperature before starting.
  2. Place the butter in a stand mixer with the whisk attachment.
  3. Whip on high speed for 5 minutes, occasionally scraping down the sides of the bowl.
  4. Reduce the mixer speed to medium. Add 1/3 of the condensed milk, whipping until fully blended.
  5. Repeat this step until all the condensed milk is incorporated.
  6. Add vanilla and salt, then whip on high speed for 1 minute to finish.

Notes

Store leftover buttercream in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. Whip again before use to restore texture.
