Description
A delightful drink that combines the sweetness of ripe peaches with the tartness of fresh lemons, perfect for hot summer days.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe peaches, peeled and chopped
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 8 lemons)
- 4–5 cups cold water
- Ice cubes
- Peach slices and lemon wedges for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the chopped peaches, sugar, and 1 cup of water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Cook for about 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the peaches are soft and the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Blend the mixture until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher if desired.
- Add the fresh lemon juice and remaining cold water, starting with 3–4 cups and adjusting to taste. Stir well.
- Refrigerate until chilled. Serve over ice and garnish with peach slices or lemon wedges if desired.
Notes
Use very ripe peaches for maximum sweetness. Adjust sugar to taste if needed.
