Description
A fun and colorful science experiment that creates mesmerizing visual effects using layers of liquids and Pop Rocks.
Ingredients
- 1 clear plastic bottle or jar
- 1/2 cup water
- Vegetable oil (enough to fill the rest of the bottle)
- Food coloring (multiple colors for rainbow layers)
- 1 teaspoon glitter (optional, for sparkle)
- 1 pack of Pop Rocks candy (any flavor or color)
- Funnel (optional, for easier pouring)
- 1 tray or towel (to protect surfaces)
Instructions
- Pour about 1/2 cup of water into the clear plastic bottle.
- Add a few drops of different food coloring to create layered rainbow colors without mixing too much.
- Sprinkle in glitter to add sparkle to the bubbling effect.
- Slowly fill the bottle with vegetable oil, leaving a little space at the top, allowing the water and oil to separate completely.
- Quickly drop a spoonful of Pop Rocks into the bottle and watch the fizzy, bubbling rainbow show.
- Add more Pop Rocks in small amounts as the fizz fades for continued fun.
Notes
Use a funnel when pouring to avoid spills. Adjust the amount of Pop Rocks for a stronger or milder fizz.
