Description
A fun and educational science experiment demonstrating cloud formation and rain.
Ingredients
- 1 clear glass jar or cup
- Shaving cream (foam type)
- Water
- Blue food coloring
- Small bowl or cup for mixing dye
- Dropper or spoon
Instructions
- Fill the jar about 3/4 full with water to represent the atmosphere.
- Gently spray a generous amount of shaving cream on top of the water to form a fluffy cloud.
- In a small bowl, mix a few drops of blue food coloring with a bit of water to create your ‘rainwater.’
- Using a dropper or spoon, slowly drip the colored water onto the top of the shaving cream.
- Watch as the colored water seeps through the shaving cream, resembling rain falling from clouds into the water below.
Notes
Use a clear jar for the best view and experiment with different colors of food coloring. Cover with plastic wrap or a lid if you want to store it.
