Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy.
- Add vegetable oil, buttermilk, and vanilla extract to the mixture.
- In another bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until combined.
- Pour the batter onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow to cool slightly, then roll the cake with the parchment paper from one end to the other.
- Let it cool completely before filling with your desired frosting or cream.
- Once filled, roll it back up, slice, and serve.
