Description

Delicious hand-held pizza pockets filled with cheese, pepperoni, and your favorite toppings, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce
  • Mushrooms (optional)
  • Olives (optional)
  • Bell peppers (optional)
  • Cooked sausage crumbles (optional)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add warm water and 2 tbsp of olive oil, mixing to form a dough. Knead until smooth, then let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  3. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut it into circles.
  4. Place shredded mozzarella, pepperoni, and a spoonful of pizza sauce in the center of each circle. Add optional ingredients if desired.
  5. Fold the dough over to form a pocket and seal the edges well.
  6. Beat the egg with 1 tbsp of water to make an egg wash. Brush the tops of the pockets with the egg wash.
  7. Place the pockets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Seal the edges well to prevent filling from leaking. Experiment with different fillings and sauces for unique flavors.
