Description

A delightful dessert that combines the rich flavors of pecan pie with the ease of a cake, featuring a gooey caramel layer and crunchy pecans.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup maple syrup or corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Optional: 1 tbsp bourbon
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Pour the caramel sauce into a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together maple syrup, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and pecans.
  4. Pour the pecan mixture over the caramel sauce in the baking pan.
  5. Sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the pecan mixture.
  6. Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool completely before serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Pair with vanilla ice cream and drizzle with more caramel sauce for extra sweetness.
