Ingredients
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 cup maple syrup or corn syrup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 cups pecan halves
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Optional: 1 tbsp bourbon
- Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Pour the caramel sauce into a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together maple syrup, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and pecans.
- Pour the pecan mixture over the caramel sauce in the baking pan.
- Sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the pecan mixture.
- Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely before serving.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature. Pair with vanilla ice cream and drizzle with more caramel sauce for extra sweetness.
