Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 14 oz smoked sausage, sliced
- 12 oz pasta of choice
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook until browned.
- Stir in the pasta, chicken broth, and heavy cream.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the pasta is cooked, about 10-15 minutes.
- Stir in the cheese until melted and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with parsley if desired.
Notes
Can add favorite vegetables or use different types of sausage for variety. For a lighter version, replace heavy cream with half-and-half or non-dairy milk.
