Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups dry ditalini pasta
- 2 1/2 to 3 cups chicken broth
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 3–4 tablespoons salted butter
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (plus more for serving)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Optional toppings: fresh parsley, red pepper flakes
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Add the dry ditalini pasta and chicken broth to the skillet. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the pasta is cooked.
- Stir in the heavy cream, butter, Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Cook until the sauce has thickened slightly, about 2-3 minutes.
- Serve hot, topped with additional Parmesan cheese, fresh parsley, and red pepper flakes if desired.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth. Add veggies like spinach or cherry tomatoes for color.
