Description

A fun science experiment that creates a fizzy eruption resembling a mini volcano, perfect for kids and adults.


Ingredients

  • 1 clear jar or glass container
  • 2 tablespoons baking soda
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • Red food coloring (for lava effect)
  • A few drops of dish soap
  • Small funnel (optional)
  • Tray or towel (to catch spills)


Instructions

  1. Place the baking soda into the bottom of the jar.
  2. In a separate cup, mix vinegar, red food coloring, and a few drops of dish soap.
  3. Slowly pour the vinegar mixture into the jar with baking soda and watch the fizzy ‘lava’ erupt!
  4. Once the reaction stops, you can add more vinegar mixture to erupt again.

Notes

Use a clear jar for better visibility of the reaction and experiment with different colors of food coloring for varying effects.
