Description
A hearty casserole that combines all the great tastes of pizza with flavorful meats, gooey cheese, and pasta.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1/2 lb pepperoni slices
- 1 lb ground beef
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 2 cups mozzarella, shredded
- 1/2 cup parmesan, grated
- 16 oz penne pasta
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
Instructions
- Cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain it well.
- In a large skillet, brown the Italian sausage, ground beef, and diced green bell pepper over medium heat until the meats are fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
- In a large bowl, mix the cooked pasta, the browned meats, and the marinara sauce until everything is well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella and parmesan cheeses on top, and add the Italian seasoning for extra flavor.
- Bake at 375°F for about 25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- For a golden top, broil for an additional 2 minutes. Watch closely to avoid burning.
Notes
Feel free to use other meats like bacon or ham. You can also add your favorite pizza toppings such as mushrooms or olives.
