Description

A hearty casserole that combines all the great tastes of pizza with flavorful meats, gooey cheese, and pasta.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1/2 lb pepperoni slices
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella, shredded
  • 1/2 cup parmesan, grated
  • 16 oz penne pasta
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced


Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain it well.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the Italian sausage, ground beef, and diced green bell pepper over medium heat until the meats are fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the cooked pasta, the browned meats, and the marinara sauce until everything is well combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the mozzarella and parmesan cheeses on top, and add the Italian seasoning for extra flavor.
  6. Bake at 375°F for about 25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. For a golden top, broil for an additional 2 minutes. Watch closely to avoid burning.

Notes

Feel free to use other meats like bacon or ham. You can also add your favorite pizza toppings such as mushrooms or olives.
