A fun and simple craft project to create a charming mini aquarium using a mason jar.
Ingredients
- Mason jar with lid
- Aquarium rocks or marbles
- Blue food coloring
- Plastic fish
- Aquarium plant
- Fishing line
- Water
- Hot glue gun
- Glue sticks
Instructions
- Start by dropping a small handful of aquarium rocks or marbles into the bottom of the mason jar.
- Place the aquarium plant among the rocks, arranging it to your liking. Add a dot of hot glue if necessary to secure the base of the plant to the rocks.
- In a separate container, add blue food coloring to 2 cups of water and stir until well mixed.
- Pour the blue water into the mason jar over the rocks and plant.
- Take two pieces of fishing line and tie one to the front of the plastic fish and the other around its tail.
- Attach the ends of the fishing line to the inside of the mason jar lid using hot glue to hold them in place.
- Put the lid on the mason jar and tighten it to ensure it fits snugly.
- Apply hot glue around the lid ring and screw it onto the jar to keep it securely closed.
Notes
Choose colorful rocks for a vibrant look and experiment with different types of fish and plants for various themes.
