A simple yet delicious dish combining shrimp, garlic, and creamy sauce over pasta, perfect for quick weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- Salt, for the pasta water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 8 oz pasta (spaghetti or fettuccine)
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Add minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- Combine the cooked pasta with the shrimp sauce and toss to coat.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
Do not overcook the shrimp to avoid a rubbery texture. Adjust the spice level based on preference.
