Description
A delicious and quick meal featuring succulent shrimp tossed with pasta in a creamy garlic sauce, perfect for busy weeknights or romantic dinners.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces linguine pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 ½ tablespoons butter (divided)
- 1 pound raw shrimp (frozen, peeled, and deveined)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning (optional)
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup grated parmesan
- ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- In a medium-sized saucepan, boil water and add salt. Add the pasta and cook until al dente, reserving 1 cup of pasta water, then drain.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and add olive oil. Cook the shrimp for about a minute, season with salt, pepper, and Old Bay seasoning, and cook until pink. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter, add minced garlic, and cook until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
- Pour in heavy cream, deglaze the pan, then add grated parmesan and let it melt, using reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.
- Toss the cooked pasta in the sauce until well coated, then add shrimp to reheat. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve.
Notes
For extra flavor, add red pepper flakes for heat. Use fresh shrimp for best taste. Don’t overcook the shrimp; they should turn pink and opaque.
