Description

A fun and engaging project to create a stunning visual treat that mimics fireworks indoors, perfect for all ages.


Ingredients

  • One clear glass jar or plastic sensory bottle with lid
  • Warm water
  • Two to three tablespoons vegetable oil
  • A few drops each of red, white, and blue food coloring
  • Optional: glitter star-shaped confetti or shimmer powder
  • Optional: Alka Seltzer tablet


Instructions

  1. Fill your jar with warm water until it is three-quarters full.
  2. In a small bowl, mix two to three tablespoons of vegetable oil with a few drops each of red, white, and blue food coloring. Stir briefly but do not fully mix.
  3. Gently pour the oil and food coloring mix on top of the water and watch the food coloring sink and burst.
  4. (Optional) Add glitter star-shaped confetti or shimmer powder and swirl gently.
  5. (Optional) Drop in one-quarter or one-half Alka Seltzer tablet and watch the bubbles move the colors.

Notes

Use warm water for better mixing and experiment with different color combinations for unique effects.
