Description
A delicious, tropical treat made with pineapple and vanilla ice cream, perfect for cooling down on a hot day.
Ingredients
- 2 cups frozen pineapple chunks
- 3/4 cup vanilla ice cream
- 4 ounces pineapple juice
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
- A pinch of fine sea salt
Instructions
- In a high-powered blender, add the frozen pineapple, vanilla ice cream, pineapple juice, sugar (if using), lemon juice, and salt.
- Blend on high for 2–3 minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.
- Continue blending until the mixture is ultra-creamy and resembles soft-serve ice cream.
- Transfer the mixture to a freezer-safe container and chill for 30–40 minutes to firm slightly.
- Spoon the mixture into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip and swirl into chilled dessert cups.
- For a firmer texture, place the swirled cups back in the freezer for 15–20 minutes before serving.
- Optionally, pour pineapple juice into a glass, top with a swirl of the soft serve, and garnish with a maraschino cherry to create a Dole Whip Float.
Notes
Use frozen pineapple for the best texture. Adjust sugar level to taste and experiment with toppings like toasted coconut.
