Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1 cup extra sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1-2 tablespoons cold water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, and cayenne.
- Add the cold butter and cheddar cheese, mixing until crumbly.
- Add cold water a tablespoon at a time until the dough comes together.
- Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.
- Cut into desired shapes and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, try mixing cheeses or adding spices. Don’t skip chilling the dough for the best texture.
