A delicious, hearty dish combining classic pizza flavors with the comfort of a pie, perfect for family dinners or parties.
Ingredients
- Ready-bake pie crusts
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 cup pepperoni
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup Cheddar or provolone cheese
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef and Italian sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat and let the meats cool.
- Preheat oven to 220 degrees C (428 degrees F).
- Roll out one pie crust and press it into a deep-dish pie pan. Spread half the mozzarella over the crust.
- Layer the cooled meat mixture over the cheese and add half the pepperoni.
- Pour pizza sauce over the meat and sprinkle with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.
- Add remaining mozzarella and Cheddar or provolone cheese, and top with remaining pepperoni.
- Place the second pie crust over the filling, trim and crimp the edges, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with garlic powder.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
This pie can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months. Reheat in a 175 degrees C (350 degrees F) oven for 15 minutes.
