A delicious and comforting dish that combines tender chicken, creamy sauce, and pasta, perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts, sliced
- 12 oz linguine or fettuccine pasta
- 2 tbsp salt (for boiling water)
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- 1/4 cup white wine (optional)
- 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes (optional)
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
- Extra Parmesan (for serving)
- Crusty bread (for serving)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add linguine or fettuccine and cook until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add sliced chicken to the skillet, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until the chicken is no longer pink, about 7-10 minutes.
- Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. Add Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is well combined.
- If using, add optional white wine and sun-dried tomatoes. Stir and let simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
- Toss in the cooked pasta and chopped parsley, mixing well to coat the pasta in the sauce.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges, extra Parmesan, and crusty bread on the side.
Notes
Use fresh garlic for the best flavor. Cook pasta al dente as it will continue cooking with the sauce.
