A comforting casserole combining tender cabbage, savory ground beef, and creamy cheese, perfect for family dinners or potlucks.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small head of green cabbage, chopped
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic and sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, draining excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the chopped cabbage and cook until it starts to soften, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour in the heavy cream, then add paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let it simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve hot with a side salad or crusty bread. Can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for 3-4 days.
