Delightful appetizer featuring creamy crab filling in crispy wonton wrappers, perfect for parties or game days.
Ingredients
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cans or 1 cup fresh lump or white meat crab, drained
- 2 green onions, finely sliced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 package wonton wrappers
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, drained crab meat, sliced green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Take a wonton wrapper and place a spoonful of the crab mixture in the center.
- Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it over to form a triangle, and seal the edges.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully add the filled wontons in batches to the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
To keep them crispy, reheat in the oven. You can experiment with fillings and spices.
