Description

Delightful appetizer featuring creamy crab filling in crispy wonton wrappers, perfect for parties or game days.


Ingredients

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cans or 1 cup fresh lump or white meat crab, drained
  • 2 green onions, finely sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package wonton wrappers
  • Oil for deep frying


Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, drained crab meat, sliced green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Take a wonton wrapper and place a spoonful of the crab mixture in the center.
  3. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it over to form a triangle, and seal the edges.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Carefully add the filled wontons in batches to the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

To keep them crispy, reheat in the oven. You can experiment with fillings and spices.
