A hearty baked beans dish with ground beef, bacon, BBQ sauce, and veggies.
Ingredients
- 2 (28-ounce) cans of original-style baked beans
- ¼ cup bell pepper, diced
- ¼ cup yellow onion, diced
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- ¼ cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
- ½ cup cooked bacon, chopped
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned and no pink remains. Season with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Drain the grease.
- In a 9×13 casserole dish, combine baked beans, bell peppers, onions, mustard, BBQ sauce, chopped bacon, brown sugar, and the cooked ground beef.
- Stir everything together until well combined.
- Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 30–45 minutes, until bubbling and heated through.
- Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your cowboy-style baked beans hot and hearty!
Notes
Serve as a main dish with cornbread on the side or pair with grilled sausages, brisket, or chicken.
