Description

A hearty baked beans dish with ground beef, bacon, BBQ sauce, and veggies.


Ingredients

  • 2 (28-ounce) cans of original-style baked beans
  • ¼ cup bell pepper, diced
  • ¼ cup yellow onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • ¼ cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
  • ½ cup cooked bacon, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned and no pink remains. Season with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Drain the grease.
  3. In a 9×13 casserole dish, combine baked beans, bell peppers, onions, mustard, BBQ sauce, chopped bacon, brown sugar, and the cooked ground beef.
  4. Stir everything together until well combined.
  5. Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 30–45 minutes, until bubbling and heated through.
  6. Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your cowboy-style baked beans hot and hearty!

Notes

Serve as a main dish with cornbread on the side or pair with grilled sausages, brisket, or chicken.
