Description
A rich and creamy chocolate sauce that enhances desserts and beverages.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the cocoa powder, water, sugar, and salt.
- Heat the saucepan over medium-low heat.
- Whisk the mixture until it is smooth and slightly thickened, about 3 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Allow the sauce to cool to room temperature, it will thicken more as it cools.
- Once cooled, transfer the chocolate sauce to a covered jar and refrigerate.
Notes
Store in a clear jar in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. If thickened, warm slightly to restore consistency.
