Description

A rich and creamy chocolate sauce that enhances desserts and beverages.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the cocoa powder, water, sugar, and salt.
  2. Heat the saucepan over medium-low heat.
  3. Whisk the mixture until it is smooth and slightly thickened, about 3 minutes.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Allow the sauce to cool to room temperature, it will thicken more as it cools.
  6. Once cooled, transfer the chocolate sauce to a covered jar and refrigerate.

Notes

Store in a clear jar in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. If thickened, warm slightly to restore consistency.
