Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup mini or regular chocolate chips
- Extra chocolate chips for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream the softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
- Divide the dough into small portions, roll each into ropes, and twist them.
- Place the twisted cookies on the baking sheet and press extra chocolate chips on top if desired.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
