Description

A delicious and easy dinner recipe combining cheese tortellini, savory pepperoni, and gooey mozzarella cheese, all baked together for a warm and satisfying meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 package (9 oz) cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 jar (24 oz) pizza sauce
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Italian cheese blend (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish or casserole dish.
  3. In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the tortellini according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked tortellini, pizza sauce, sliced pepperoni, and half of the mozzarella cheese. If using, add the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Stir until everything is evenly coated.
  5. Pour the tortellini mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and the Italian cheese blend (if using).
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

Leftover casserole can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place desired portion in the microwave or oven.
