Description

Cake Mix Toffee Bars are a delicious treat that combines the sweet crunch of toffee with a soft cake-like base. Simple to make, these bars are perfect for parties, snacks, or just to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Ingredients

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup toffee bits
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, and egg. Stir until well combined and the dough is thick.
  3. Fold in the toffee bits and chocolate chips (if using) until evenly distributed.
  4. Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
  5. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the top of the dough.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and set in the middle. Check by inserting a toothpick; it should come out mostly clean with a few crumbs.
  7. Let the bars cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Slice into squares.

Notes

Store any leftover bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. They can also be refrigerated for a longer shelf life.
