Description

Delightful bars combining the classic flavors of peanut butter and chocolate inspired by the famous Ohio buckeye candy.

Ingredients

  • 8 tablespoons salted sweet cream butter, softened
  • 3 cups creamy peanut butter
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, creamy peanut butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Gradually mix in the powdered sugar until combined and dough-like. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and vegetable oil. Heat in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.
  5. Pour the melted chocolate ganache over the peanut butter layer, spreading it evenly.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 120 minutes until set.
  7. Cut into bars and serve.

Notes

Serve chilled or at room temperature. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freeze for later use.
