Description
Delightful bars combining the classic flavors of peanut butter and chocolate inspired by the famous Ohio buckeye candy.
Ingredients
- 8 tablespoons salted sweet cream butter, softened
- 3 cups creamy peanut butter
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, creamy peanut butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually mix in the powdered sugar until combined and dough-like. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and vegetable oil. Heat in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.
- Pour the melted chocolate ganache over the peanut butter layer, spreading it evenly.
- Refrigerate for at least 120 minutes until set.
- Cut into bars and serve.
Notes
Serve chilled or at room temperature. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freeze for later use.
