Description
A delicious dessert combining creamy cheesecake with rich custard and sweet whipped cream, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for crust)
- 3 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for filling)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch (for custard)
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for custard)
- 2 large egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch (for custard)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for custard)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
- In a bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and 1/4 cup sugar. Press this mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan to form a crust. Bake for 10 minutes, then allow it to cool.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with 1 cup sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cooled crust. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the center is set. Allow it to cool completely.
- In a saucepan, whisk together the milk, 1/4 cup sugar, egg yolks, and cornstarch. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla. Allow this custard to cool slightly.
- Spread the custard over the cooled cheesecake and refrigerate until set.
- In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Spread the whipped cream over the custard layer just before serving.
Notes
Make sure your cream cheese is softened to avoid lumps. For richer flavor, use a vanilla bean instead of extract.
