Ingredients

  • 16 oz elbow macaroni
  • 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  4. Add the milk and cream, stirring until heated through.
  5. Gradually add in the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, stirring until melted and smooth.
  6. Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni, mixing well.
  7. Pour the macaroni and cheese mixture into a greased baking dish.
  8. Sprinkle additional cheese on top if desired.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.
