Description

A fun and colorful jar craft perfect for celebrating Independence Day, mimicking fireworks with a splash of festive spirit.


Ingredients

  • One clear glass jar or plastic sensory bottle with lid
  • Warm water
  • 2-3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • A few drops each of red, white, and blue food coloring
  • Optional: glitter star-shaped confetti or shimmer powder
  • Optional: Alka Seltzer tablet


Instructions

  1. Fill Your Jar – Pour warm water into the jar until it is three-fourths full.
  2. Prepare the Oil Color Mix – In a small bowl, mix the vegetable oil and a few drops each of red, white, and blue food coloring. Stir briefly but do not fully mix.
  3. Pour the Oil Into the Jar – Gently pour the oil and food coloring mix on top of the water.
  4. Add Sparkle (Optional) – Add glitter star-shaped confetti or shimmer powder. Swirl gently.
  5. Add Lava Lamp Bubbles (Optional) – Drop in one-fourth or one-half Alka Seltzer tablet.

Notes

Store in a cool, dry place with the lid tightly closed. Avoid shaking if Alka Seltzer is used.
